About this artwork
This image has been in my head for some time, and so here we finally are!
I find that the older I get the more in tune I become with the natural world, and at the same time I am slowly regressing from the "human" world. Most humans have little or no connection to nature, animals or any sincere belief in our underlying spiritual connection to everything in this world (and farther beyond). We spend our days online glued to our phones seeking more… information, more bits and bytes. We've successfully downloaded so much data to our brains that we've shuttered these natural connections. Personally, I'm all for tech, for knowledge and the progress it brings. However, this work stands in contrast to the data addiction. It is a grounding work for me, my reconnection to everything outside of tech.

Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint.
