In 2022 I had the opportunity to ride in a helicopter with no doors, over the salt flats in the South of France.
This picture of the salt flats is one of several Multiple exposures resulting from that trip.
The process of blending the layers results in the emergence of colours not visible to the naked eye.
My print of this image is interesting, in that the shapes of the salt seem like paint textures and it makes me want to touch the picture to… feel the ridge in the seascape. But it is just Salt!
The colours are vivid and varied and more interesting than the naked eye sees. I didn't expect them to emerge as such a joyous palette
I was extremely excited by the many shapes and colours and have a series of several Saltscapes (as I have chosen to call them).
This is one, but there are several others also for sale here. This is a traditional paper print, but Acrylic is also possible on request
Kate Lloyd is a photographer trained under acclaimed artists, most notably Jonathan Chritchley of Ocean Capture. She employs abstract and verismo styles, using multiple exposures to transform images of horses, water, and Venetian scenes into vibrant compositions, often presented as acrylics or luxury silk scarves. Her work radiates a profound appreciation for the untamed spirit of horses and the luminous mystery of water, evoking both tranquility and wonder.
