This work, titled J&K2, is part of my MadeReady_Paper series, initiated in the street between 2010 and 2017. I assemble fragments of torn posters, taken from public spaces, without paint or ink. Here, the mythical portrait of Jackie and JFK partially emerges, like a memory perforated by reality. Through this act of papering, I question collective memory, icons, and their progressive erasure in a world saturated with images.
It's not about representing,… but about revealing what the paper hides or destroys, on the border between disappearance and resistance. Jackie's gaze remains, JFK's dissolves—a play of presence/absence that says a lot about our modern narratives.
I'm not trying to restore, but to let accidents, layers, and silences speak. This raw collage, without hashtagging, is a pure LARTBATARD act: somewhere between diversion, visual tension, and poetic erasure.
I created LARTBATARD, a form of artcycling born from urban collage, to offer contemporary art lovers images that resist simple “scrolling” and invite them to look differently. Using torn posters, printing inks and gestural painting, I develop six families of MadeReady (PhotosReadyMade, MadeReady_Paper, MadeReady_#Paper, MadeReady_Ink#artRevues, MadeReady_PaperInk and MadeReady_DrawInk) which replay the signs of our time and reveal its tensions. My series question identity, the body, migration and the memory of struggles, in a world saturated with images where every face seems replaceable. My works have circulated in galleries, in residences and online, in France and internationally; each piece functions for me as an archaeology of the present, a fragment of humanity to collect before it disappears.
