After a long day of swordfishing, we headed home as the sun began to set. A thunderstorm was building just east of us, and as the light dropped lower, a wash of gold illuminated the clouds in a way that felt almost unreal.
We never slowed down — running nearly 50 mph when this image was captured — yet everything aligned for a brief, powerful moment. The storm, the light, the motion. Naming this piece was easy: Golden Thunder.
