About this artwork
This work of art was inspired by the climate stripes of Ed Hawkins, who uses a series of colored, chronologically arranged stripes to visualize long-term temperature trends. Based on such a graphic, the artist created this work from 246 painted strips of linden wood.
It shows the temperature change in Innsbruck (AT) from 1777 to 2022.
"It is very important to me to make as many people as possible aware of this global and complex issue. I am convinced… that each and every one of us can make a big difference. We need to change our thinking to be more mindful and frugal. We live in a consumer society and should therefore ask ourselves more and more often whether we really need these huge amounts of material things."
Includes screws and dowels for easy wall mounting.
