About this artwork
The wall-mounted piece consists of individually crafted and glued cubes of larch wood, whose natural grain forms a vibrant yet serene grid. A circular recess opens up the surface and draws the eye to the central sculpture made of welded wire nails. The meticulously crafted head and shoulders reveal a simplified human form.
The nails are sealed with matte acrylic polish to prevent oxidation. The larch wood is treated with Scandic Oil, thus permanently… preserving its natural color.
