About this artwork
Field of Mars CXXVI is a contemporary artwork created in 2023 on a 50 x 33 cm canvas. This striking abstract painting plays with depth, texture and colors to create a dynamic, organic aesthetic. The layered chips of color in earthy tones and bright accents (red, blue, yellow and green) create a visually arresting composition inspired by nature and the idea of the "Field of Mars".
The "Field of Mars", a place of movement, conflict and transformation,… is interpreted here in an abstract way. The dense, lively texture is reminiscent of natural processes such as erosion and sedimentation, while the harmonious interplay of colors and shapes conveys a sense of balance. Plays of light and shadow on the layered surface reinforce the impression of depth and movement.
