About this artwork
In this work, I fuse thousands of tiny paint residues into an almost shimmering surface. I work with the residue of my own painting—not sand, not pigments, but actual paint chips that I collect, sift, sort, and rearrange. The result is a color-dense landscape reminiscent of a microtextural satellite image.
"Marsfeld CXXX" initially appears chaotic, almost cluttered – but upon closer inspection, subtle movements, directions, and layers reveal themselves.… This abstract texture invites you to lose yourself and discover ever new details.
For me, this image is like an archive of past works—a snapshot of the artistic biography of the material. And at the same time, a reminder that new beauty can also emerge from leftovers.
