About this artwork
In Field of Mars XXVII, countless tiny fragments of ground-up paint residue condense into an almost organic surface. The painting appears like a sedimented carpet of artistic past—a luminous archive of creative processes.
Despite the intense color scheme—dominated by warm reds, yellows, oranges, and also cool blue accents—the composition exudes a surprising sense of calm. The evenly distributed structure creates a balance between order and randomness,… between density and emptiness.
This work exemplifies modern experimental art: material is not merely used, but transformed—into meaning, into history, into surface. The origin of the colors—from the artist's palette—gives the work emotional depth and conceptual density.
Marsfeld XXVII is a meditative work that does not impose itself on the viewer, but reveals itself over time – quietly but hauntingly.
