About this artwork
In my work "Marsfeld XCVI," I combine painting with the search for traces of materials. This painting consists entirely of dried and crushed paint residues—remnants of past works that I arrange here to create a new abstract imagery.
The surface is reminiscent of eroded landscapes, mineral structures, or satellite-like images. But what looks like sand is pure paint—not painted, but layered, scattered, and rearranged. For me, every single particle… of paint speaks of the artistic process itself: of movement, transience, repetition, and new beginnings.
Field of Mars XCVI is part of my long-term series exploring change, order, and the aesthetics of what remains. Recycling these leftover paints creates not only a visual field but also a space for reflection on time, memory, and the poetic power of the material.
