About this artwork
In "Rare Hare" (oil on canvas, 40x30 cm, 2025) I did not want to capture the animal's movement through rigid contours, but rather make it tangible through open areas of color, light and space. The hare appears and disappears at the same time, formed from soft ochre tones, bright yellow and cool blue, as if it were intertwining with its surroundings.
I love it when a motif is not clearly tangible, but… only becomes visible over time. The visible artist's palette, which remains part of the composition, allows the creative process to resonate - as if the picture were still in the process of being created.
For me, this work is a reflection on movement, perception and the subtle transitions between figuration and abstraction. The rabbit is not just a motif - it is a moment, a rhythm of color and light that unfolds anew depending on the viewing angle.
