About this artwork
The Veil of Oblivion depicts a forgotten Andean village, lost in the vastness of the altiplano. The stone and thatched huts, scattered and in ruins, seem to slowly dissolve into the wild landscape. The golden grass, swept by the wind, stretches as far as the eye can see, almost completely covering these vestiges of a bygone era. In the background, the snow-capped mountains, majestic and impassive, stand as silent witnesses to the erosion of memory.…
The sky, heavy with dark clouds, adds an aura of mystery and melancholy, like a veil gently covering this forgotten past. This scene captures the moment when nature and time erase the traces of man, drowning everything in a heavy and nostalgic silence. This village, isolated and lost in the heights of the altiplano, immediately evoked for me the idea of the passage of time and oblivion.
