About this artwork
Our Lady of the Mists reveals a scene imbued with mystery and spirituality, where an ancient ruined building seems lost in the immensity of the Andean landscape. The broken archway, a remnant of a sacred place, stands before a panorama dominated by snow-capped mountains, in an atmosphere heavily laden with clouds. The vegetation surrounding the ruins, made of bushy yellow grasses, accentuates the isolation of this forgotten site, as if nature itself…
had chosen to keep this place secret. The tormented sky seems almost invigorating, like an echo of a bygone era, carrying a peaceful yet poignant nostalgia. The entire landscape, frozen between history and nature, evokes a place of silent prayer, lost in the fog of time, like an "Our Lady of the Mists," an abandoned sanctuary in the Andean immensity. This landscape deeply struck me by the solitude it emanated, like a place where memory has frozen in time.
