About this artwork
In this series I have documented the life of my chickens in painting. Realistic and yet not realistic, I use pastel colors to take the viewer through the first year of the feather-footed bantams' lives, from their first days as chicks to the adult birds, who are united by a deep, intimate bond between siblings. The picture shows autumn. The chickens are high-spirited and discover their ability to fly. The first egg has been laid. The still life around… them shows the roses that surrounded them, the millet that they especially love and other details that played a role in their first autumn. Each. This work impresses with its multitude of details and harmonious colors. It will create a dynamic and uplifting atmosphere in any room, a retreat into nature for the eyes and the soul. This work was exhibited at the spring edition of Art Shopping Paris, Carrousel du Louvre 2024
Michaela Stocker is passionate about painting horses in pastels and oils. Her techniques are experimental, the focus is on the emotional bond between humans and animals. Her works of art radiate a deep connection and an almost tangible admiration for nature.
