About this artwork
Chile. December 2018.
I meet my Chilean niece, Valentina, who is three years younger than me. She wants to take me camping in a national park with her friends. There is a lake, forests of invasive eucalyptus trees, and two old abandoned fishing huts that serve as diving boards.
This image was born there.
In the cold water, the summer heat and that very simple feeling of not thinking about much at all.
The blur isn't accidental. It's mechanical,… caused by movement, the film, and the light. I deliberately kept it because it better conveyed what I was feeling at the time: not a sharp scene to observe, but a diffuse, almost cottony sensation. Something instinctive and essential. A pleasure, like murky water.
Limited edition of 15 copies, signed, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Website under construction for more images: modeni.art

Modeni
France
Modeni, a photographer and sculptor with a background in cinema, explores the image through analog photography, drawing, modeling, and wall sculpture. His graphic style combines balance, inner movement, and a tension between gentleness and intensity: light, color, and grain breathe life into his works. He aims to reveal the essence of humanity, of life itself, bringing everyone back to a raw and universal sensation, a sincere, instinctive, and deeply shared emotion.
