About this artwork
Chile. January 2019.
On my introspective journey to my homeland, I set off to explore the Atacama Desert. The tour was organized by one of the small local companies in San Pedro, a village that is both traditional and welcoming, and has become the only tourist hub in the entire desert. Quite unique.
We set off as a group to explore the salt deserts. And there was this person.
Did she admire the immensity of these blocks?
Was she analyzing the… mineral aspect of these rocks?
Was she meditating on her existence?
It's up to each individual to project onto it what they want.
I wanted to integrate it into the landscape. It looked like it belonged there. Camouflaged.
There, amidst these tones, was a fleur de sel.
