Immediately after completing the large-format dune landscape with stone circle and pile, I reduced the scene in analytical studies into three pictorial zones: sky, dune, and stone circle with pile. I restructured the composition into three energy zones, partially transferring them to a somewhat fantastical abstraction, with a centerpiece featuring a tranquil pyramid, backed by a very lively, energetic clouded sky, and embedded the scene in a powerfully… surging energy field. The mysticism of the scene is underscored by dark, intense hatching.
I again drew the lively scene with the calming pyramid with colored and graphite pencils on a primed wooden panel in a balanced square format of 120 x 120 cm – and thus forms a congenial addition, or rather a translation of the theme into pure force fields.
As a trained graphic designer, Norbert Städele primarily uses painting and drawing techniques in his artistic work. With a realistic style and detailed colored pencil drawings, he carefully illustrates his observations of the world. Layers of hatching create intensified colors that bring his themes to life. Städele's art expresses human relationships and social injustices through meticulous observation. He also explores the phenomena of light and color and the traces of human intervention in nature. His work is therefore a haunting, intense communication of his profound engagement with the world.
