About this artwork
The peaches
The peaches were created after a shopping trip, while filling a glass bowl with the fruit. In this piece, I have captured the warmth and sweetness of peaches. Expressiveness and realistic details combine to form a vibrant whole. The combination of oil and tempera allows me to create profound colors and a tangible texture that brings joy and comfort to any room. It is an homage to life and its tender moments.
Peter Maisch is a painter who works primarily with egg tempera and oil on relined canvas or jute and completed his training at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe. His works are characterized by directly applied paint on a rough surface and high-quality pigments, combining tradition with a modern, passionate perspective. He conveys deep emotions such as memory, longing, and melancholy, making the hidden beauty of places, landscapes, encounters, and lost time vividly palpable.
Peter Maisch transforms literature, stories, and fleeting moments into artworks that open up a new, sensual world to the viewer. His recent commission by an author from Wallstein Publishing for a book cover underscores his reputation and his ability to combine his art with other creative disciplines.
