Peter Maisch

Peter Maisch is a painter who works primarily with egg tempera and oil on relined canvas or jute and completed his training at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe. His works are characterized by directly applied paint on a rough surface and high-quality pigments, combining tradition with a modern, passionate perspective. He conveys deep emotions such as memory, longing, and melancholy, vividly revealing the hidden beauty of places, landscapes, encounters, and lost time. From literature, stories, and fleeting moments, Peter Maisch creates artworks that open up a new, sensual world for the viewer. He was recently commissioned by an author from Wallstein Publishing to paint a cover for her book.
