Sodalite is a rare gemstone with a high sodium content. This stone is particularly beautifully drawn. Every little spot is in the right place. In my sculpture, I have combined bronze and stone in an unusual combination that blends almost seamlessly to create a powerful fusion of robustness and elegance. The lower part made of bronze symbolizes grounded strength and stability, while the upper part made of stone, reminiscent of the sky, stands for… transcendence and the pursuit of higher things. This work embodies the dynamic balance between these elements and invites you to reflect on your own inner strength and beauty. It brings atmospheric depth and a touch of inspiring energy to any home. The sculpture is unique, a piece of jewelry to display.
« Whatever the material, form or approach, one topic always remains paramount: the human being. »
The path of German painter and sculptor Stefanie von Quast led from studies in painting and graphic design to training in sculpture and bronze casting. She utilizes a variety of techniques and materials to seamlessly transition between painting and sculpture, with particular attention to color, drawing, and surface texture. The focus is on the human being from a unique, positive perspective. Body language and posture intuitively reflect the dynamics of interpersonal relationships. For several years now, she has been painting using mixed media on thin stone slabs, blending the stone's natural grain with the painting. This represents a further step toward merging painting and sculpture. In her sculptures, special techniques create a harmonious blend of stone and bronze. She has been working as a freelance artist for over 30 years, with regular exhibitions, art fairs and numerous commissions.
