About this artwork
"Focused" is a work of art that captures the fascinating world of chameleons and their unique abilities. At the center is the microscopic structure of their skin - a masterpiece of nature that enables color change through light reflection. Inspired by their extraordinary adaptability and communication through color, this work reflects the interplay of light, structure and transformation.
The chameleons' separately moving eyes, their impressive… focusing speed and their precise perception served as a metaphor for me for art viewing: Where does your focus go? Colors, shapes, light or shadows? "Focused" invites you to sharpen your gaze and explore both details and the bigger picture - a moment of reflection on perception and perspective.

Born in Austria, I discovered my passion for the art of engraving and steel engraving early on, a passion later expanded through the transformative power of fire in my Burningpictures. Using mixed media on linen, wood, and ceramics, I employ fire as a central design element. In my Burningpictures, I reveal the hidden secrets of nature and invite the viewer to experience the ever-changing interplay of light, color, and texture. The fire creates a magical visibility of the invisible—a powerful and liberating transformation.
