About this artwork
This is a game based on the term "plot," which refers to both the content of a film and the interweaving of threads in a fabric.
I used recovered film from an old movie to construct a fabric, with interweaving of horizontal and vertical "threads"; on this basis I added multi-colored brushstrokes to symbolize the development of the story (i.e., the plot of the film).
Valter Vari uses acrylics, enamels, and letterpress inks on canvas, fabric, paper, wood, metal, and recycled materials, drawing on his artistic and architectural training in Rome. His techniques range from abstract-informal to minimalist spatial analysis, integrating formal stylizations and experimentation with different media. Each work invites the viewer to perceive new energy and profound harmony, initiating an emotional dialogue with the environment and the viewer.
