About this artwork
Camargue horse liquid charcoal 30cm by 40cm
Here, in this drawing made with liquid charcoal, I express the strength, energy, freedom and grace of the horse. I thus release the feeling of dynamism and vitality of the horse. Putting its gaze 3/4 turned towards us spectators to add intensity and also allow us to establish a connection with the animal.
In it, I describe the raw beauty and power that a galloping horse exudes. I wanted a moment of… pure movement. Here, I celebrate the animal world in its freest and most dynamic expression. By giving the impression of a simple sketch, I emphasize the energy in an immediate, spontaneous, and unadorned way.
Born in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, William Marcheval is a polymorphic artist, moving from painting to computer graphics. He practices glazing and sfumato, approaching Impressionism with a touch of naiveté. His constantly evolving works combine realism and abstraction, exploring themes such as tenderness and humanism. Marcheval seeks to evoke wonder, questioning, and escape through his artwork.
