About this artwork
It is hard to believe how many forms can be found in a simple car headlight. Between the nothingness of pure white and the nothingness of deep black, the rich palette of shades of grey unfolds, giving form to existence.
This is an airbrush work in which I moved the spray gun over the canvas in many layers freehand, i.e. without using a stencil technique. Since the light reflections on the concave and convex lacquer, chrome and glass surfaces are… slightly diffuse, I had to approach the picture carrier while moving with the spray gun in an elegant swing like in a dance, which required a high degree of concentration.
Painting light was a real challenge. I faced it to experience enlightenment.
