About this artwork
Joseph B. Dzunghashvili was nicknamed Stalin, "The Man of Steel," after he filled the Bolshevik party coffers in 1907 through a robbery of the Tbilisi bank in which approximately 40 people were killed. With an iron fist, he later, as General Secretary of the CPSU and Supreme Commander of the Red Army, sent tens of millions of people to their deaths.
The German soldiers learned to fear him in the Battle of Stalingrad, when the 6th Army was decimated,… with approximately 60,000 soldiers killed and over 100,000 taken prisoner by the Russians, of whom only about 6,000 returned.
The Russians at that time used "Katyusha" rocket launchers, which the Germans called "Stalin organs" because of the arrangement of the rockets on the carriages in the shape of an organ, as well as because of the whistling sound when launched.
Due to the fragility of the artwork, shipping via Singulart is not possible. Please contact the artist.
