About this artwork
The hunting horn is a memento of my father, who was a forester and hunter. I flattened it with a road roller and placed it in a shadow box frame. A pencil drawing of the stag of St. Hubertus is embedded in the horn's curve. Since hunters tend to exaggerate in their stories (hunter's tales), I added the screw cap from a Jägermeister bottle, the most popular hunter's drink. To complement the musical instrument, I chose the title of C.M. Weber's opera…
"Der Freischütz."
