About this artwork
In this painting, I explore a quiet story captured on the ancient walls and cobbled paths of an old courtyard. Such courtyards are typical of the regional towns in Latvia. However, Kuldiga stands out as a unique place where authentic, traditional architecture and way of life have been preserved. The majority of the town remains virtually untouched by renovation, which draws those who seek the charm of true antiquity.
With each brushstroke, I sought… to capture the eternal dance of light and shadow, creating a dialogue between the past and the present. The vibrant, earthy tones and the intricate interplay of light invite viewers to pause and immerse themselves in this serene, hidden corner of the world. I hope this work will bring a sense of tranquillity into your space
Golubeva, a painter and conceptual artist, experiments with various materials such as paper, wood, metal, natural elements, and plastic. She's captivated by nature's beauty, often making these ordinary objects the subjects of her art. By employing experimental techniques, she uniquely portrays landscapes, still lifes, and human figures. Her artistic journey is a profound dialogue, stirring emotions and reflecting her inner world through an expressive form of vitality.
