About this artwork
In The Golden Mask, I wanted to explore the universe of the mask as a symbol of mystery, transformation, and inner identity.
At the center of the work, a stylized face appears as a presence that is both fragile and powerful, carried by a movement of colors and pointillist patterns.
I often work with gold, as this material brings a precious and timeless dimension to my work. Here, the gold background acts like an enveloping, almost sacred light,… which makes the forms vibrate and underlines the ritualistic nature of the composition.
The spirals, decorative details and geometric figures evoke a symbolic language, somewhere between celebration and meditation.
Through this work, I seek to create a poetic space where imagination, memory, and metamorphosis meet.

FLOD, a French painter and sculptor based in Spain, works mainly in painting using dot art, spirals and gold; she draws on a self-taught background and studies at the Beaux-Arts in Avignon. Her technique lies between the abstract and the figurative, she gives herself entirely to this indefinite sphere which requires both poetry and mastery of technique. She favors a symbolic, unreal and poetic approach; each work, singular, honors the magic of colors and the generosity of the material. She infuses her art with dreams, escape, and a vibrant joy, deeply touching the soul of the spectator.
