About this artwork
MEAEM (initials for Menina em Azul e Mel, means Girl in Blue and Honey in portuguese). One of those in which the title comes after the work is done. (Also discovered that turquoise blue is so appealing for caughting our eyes)
First quick sketch done early 2017, could find time to paint three years later (crazy harsh work for making ends meet), right in the middle of pandemic times and lockdowns for Covid-19.
Looking for magical ethereal images… may be a comfort amongst difficult times, and it's always inspiring. For first idea, the girl figure would be on top of a turtle and a rabbit (this sense of naiveness comes frequently and it's also catchy inspiring)
