About this artwork
Violet Rhapsody is inspired by the rich beauty of hydrangeas illuminated by the soft light of evening. Layers of violet, lavender and deep plum tones are woven throughout the composition, accented with touches of warm pink and golden light to create a sense of depth, movement and atmosphere. I wanted the painting to feel immersive, as though the viewer is stepping into a garden suspended between daylight and dusk.
Built through expressive brushwork… and intuitive layers of colour, the piece celebrates the emotional power of vibrant hues and their ability to transform a space. The flowing forms and luminous palette create a balance between energy and tranquillity, allowing the painting to feel both uplifting and calming at the same time.
For me, Violet Rhapsody is a celebration of colour at its most joyful and expressive. Whether displayed in a living space, bedroom or creative environment, it brings warmth, richness and a sense of elegance while making a striking visual statement.
