About this artwork
This painting is inspired by those moments when the outside world fades into the background and you find yourself completely absorbed in the beauty of the present. A meadow of wildflowers unfolds across the canvas, filled with colour, light and movement, evoking a feeling rather than a specific place. It is a celebration of freedom, tranquillity and the simple joy of being immersed in nature.
Created in oil and acrylic on canvas, the surface is… built through layers of expressive colour and intricate detail. Dripped paint, energetic splashes and intuitive mark making bring a sense of spontaneity and life, while delicate floral elements emerge throughout the composition, inviting closer inspection. The contrast between loose expression and refined detail creates depth, atmosphere and a sense of discovery.
As I worked on this piece, I wanted to capture the feeling of losing track of time while surrounded by beauty. For me, it speaks of presence, connection and beauty.
