About this artwork
It is a solid block of polyurethane, carved and hand-painted.
This work transforms the passage of time into volume and texture. Through broken lines and fragmented strokes, this relief painting of life's traces encapsulates unspoken emotions, indelible marks, and scars that speak without a voice.
There are faces that don't look outward, but inward. This is one of them; it captures that intimate dialogue we maintain with our experiences, with everything… that has left its mark on us, even if no one sees it. The fragmented forms are not fractures, but paths: lines that intersect, are interrupted, and are recomposed.
What appears to be a simple texture conceals emotional depth, as if the material itself held memories of time. Volume emerges from absence and imperfect lines, just like memories that we sometimes don't know if we invented or reconstructed.
Antonio Gea Pérez, a self-taught artist, fuses painting and sculpture, creating large-format, three-dimensional works in polychrome polyurethane, where each piece is unique and certified. His technique consists of carving curves and surfaces to give volume and dynamism to his distinctive contemporary art compositions. He depicts scenes of life, exploring humanity and nature, conveying the tangible emotion of life like a puzzle full of profound meaning.
