About this artwork
Cordis Aranea is part of my "Obscura" line and depicts a spider-like alien that symbolically hides in the heart of every human being. The sculpture represents the strange and uncanny that lurks deep within us—whether we accept it or repress it.
The surface was coated with genuine copper rust pigments in a complex process. This created an authentic patina and real rust, which defines the unique character of the piece. The rusting process was deliberately… stopped, ensuring the vibrant surface is permanently preserved.
