About this artwork
I was inspired by the mysterious landscapes of the deep sea for this sculpture.
The use of numerous textures, structure pastes, patina, rust, and metallic effects created the impression of an ancient artifact that had long lain hidden on the seabed. Coral-like structures and organic deposits give the work the character of a find from an unknown world.
I am interested in the connection between time, decay and transformation – the idea that even… the hardest forms are changed and reshaped by their environment.
