About this artwork
“Uriel Cor Lucis” is my contemporary interpretation of the archangel Uriel – the guardian of inner fire and clarity.
In this sculpture I capture the moment when a person's heart begins to shine: when courage, truth and inner peace unite.
I have been working with anatomical hearts as a symbol of the human emotional world for years. For Uriel, I chose a golden heart surrounded by radiant points of light. For me, it represents the power that protects… us when we need support in difficult times – a light that comes from within and spreads outwards.
The angel's calm, almost meditative posture is meant to show that true strength is never loud. It originates within, in the heart.
During the creative process, it was important to me that the sculptural surface evoke ancient, spiritual artifacts – a piece of history combined with a clear, modern language.
