About this artwork
An impala, which is a common antelope in Africa, decides to pose in from of the rising sun, to dramatic effect. The image was deliberately under-exposed so as to not lose the highlights in the sun. Most sunrise or sunset silhouettes are in colour, with the deep orange hues being the dramatic hero of the images. In this image, we wanted the unsung impala to be the hero and chose the less usual black and white treatment.
We are very species agnostic… in our photography and believe that any animal in the wild, be they the iconic cats, elephants or rhinos or the unheralded plains game, can make for striking and beautiful imagery.
This image is printed on archival paper with no optical brighteners so as to ensure that the print paper colour you receive will last for generations, without turning yellow in time.
This is the "Medium" size. Other sizes are available.
