About this artwork
Sitting chimpanzee. The chimpanzee among the other apes is the one that shares most of the genetic code with humans. In this sculpture the sitting pose, however natural for this animal, makes him feel very similar to us. Sensation accentuated by the meditative attitude that the author wanted to give him. There is no doubt that the monkey is thinking and that he is thinking of something nontrivial.
This object is a multiple and is part of a series… obtained with a mold. It was formed in red clay and then colored, after firing in the oven, with glazes.

Daniele Nannini is an experienced sculptor and designer based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Germany. In addition, his pieces are featured in publications such as Zoom Magazine, LIBER, etc. Begining his career as an illustrator for children's books, Nannini's drawings have always emphasized volumes. He now creates with clay, with a geometric measure in mind.
