It is a work made up of the reuse of boxes originally containing bottles of wine in which the author has placed - as if in too narrow cages - some animals, domestic or otherwise, imaginary or real.
The animals are from bottom to top and from left to right: Winged Horse (Pegasus), Panther, Orangutan, Gorilla, Rhinoceros, Boar, Hippopotamus, Goat, Jackal, Eagle, Bull.
The boxes are now simply placed one on top of the other to facilitate shipping… in multiple boxes which will contain spring clips to secure them. However, they cannot be purchased separately. The animals are built with synthetic sponge (polyester foam) bricks of various sizes, partly cut out and not painted. The bars of the cages are made of bamboo.
The work was exhibited in the collective exhibition Giardino Zoo-logico held in Florence in 2022 curated by Sergio Tossi.
« In my design, there has always been an idea of three-dimensionality which then naturally became the design of three-dimensional objects. »
