About this artwork
The city is a busy place with space to sit and reflect or regroup is at a minimum. This woman has found a premium spot on a bench on a sunny day. This is a rare moment in her busy day that she can observe what is around her and also be observed.
The photos are taken with a Canon camera and then additional photography, textures and colors are layered together digitally. This process adds to the feeling of exciting chaos one feels while walking and… observing so much in the moment. Yet slowing things down there is a sense of peace as well. The image is then printed onto 100% cotton acid-free fine art paper using premium archival inks and mounted onto a wood panel with 1.5" sides. Then paint is added and finally several layers of encaustic wax is added for protection and effect.
