Transfer explores how a single movement of paint can shift across a surface. A dense area of deep Prussian blue gradually breaks apart into irregular impressions and fragmented marks, before becoming thinner and more fluid towards the edge.
The large area of untouched paper gives space to this transition, allowing differences in density, texture and application to become the focus of the work.

Els Devrieze
Belgium
Els Devrieze is a Belgian painter whose work explores intensity, stillness, and the physical presence of paint.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, she builds layered surfaces that function as inner landscapes rather than literal depictions. Her practice is driven by intuition and material engagement, allowing tension and balance to emerge through texture, color, and restraint.
Devrieze’s work invites sustained looking, offering space for reflection without prescribing a fixed narrative.
