About this artwork
In this canvas, I arrange, with ironic glee, a triangle of furtive glances and veiled gestures, thus tracing the burlesque geometry of desire. I placed the female figure in the luminous center of the painting, aglow with white innocence; yet her heavenward eyes and her hesitant hand announce, with mischievous subtlety, that virtue is nothing but a comedy. Behind her, in dark reds and ochres, I positioned two male figures whose anxious proximity invades… the space with the swiftness of launched arrows; their mischievous countenances betray the urgency of their intent, while their own simulates naiveté, well tinged with malice. The interplay of planes serves to exacerbate this rapid and self-serving approximation, thus revealing how brief the distances between intention and conquest are, and how much of a farce lies within each accelerated step toward the promised amorous fortune.
Eusebio San Blanco explores art using oil and tempera techniques, and his teaching experience in anatomy is reflected in his mastery of figurative art. His style is a tapestry of contemporary figurative expressionism, nourished by traditional techniques and glazes that evoke profound emotions. His works are a vibrant dialogue between form and feeling, inviting introspective contemplation.
