About this artwork
In this canvas I speak to myself from the threshold, like a vagabond who hesitates between two worlds, the present and a forgotten past, but I do so from a suspended moment, where my character struggles between yesterday and tomorrow. I wanted the door to become a sanctuary of the absurd, an altar where the everyday is enveloped in solemn irony. The duality of light and shadow, chiseled with the crudeness that alquise oil also allows, highlights… the moment of doubt, where the step becomes both an impulse and a resistance. Thus, in this corner, I invite the spectator to discover that each wait is a rebellion against the inexorable advance of time, an ephemeral pause that encloses the eternity of the moment.
Eusebio San Blanco explores art with oil and tempera techniques, and his teaching experience in anatomy reflects his mastery of figuration. His style is a fabric of figurative expressionism, nourished by traditional procedures and glazes that evoke deep emotions. His works are a vibrant dialogue between form and feeling, inviting introspective contemplation.
