About this artwork
In this scene I wanted to invite the mockery of perspective and the dream of the celestial. My figures float like comic apparitions, as if the ceiling were opening to a sky of deception, offering us the stage machinery of a world turned upside down. Looking up, the spectator comes across naked bodies that, in twisted gestures, celebrate the irony of their own weightlessness. Each stroke pursues the illusion of an unreal air, where what is the ceiling…
is transformed into infinity, and human flesh into a playful spectrum. Thus, brushstroke by brushstroke, I present a simulation that does not hide its desire for farce: the characters contort themselves as if space were as malleable as human vanity, while the blue of the background, alien to earthly logic, becomes a mockery of gravity and its severities. With this, I satirize the pomp of the great ecclesiastical frescoes, because my heaven, more than divine, is adorned with the carnal presence of a mischievous paradise, in which the deception of sight is united
