About this artwork
I wanted to bring back on this canvas the memory of these harmonies of colors that we find in autumn in the Cévennes region.
Range of tones that are changing from one color to another as they fade, the greens of summer becoming green-yellow, then yellow-orange, then light brown, then dark brown and finally black and then it is the end of the leaf. Before dying each leaf goes through this whole range of colors. The gray bark hatched with gray-black… in the background simulates the trees that bear them.
On this painting I used the technique of applying by contact with the spatula on the canvas. This, by using several colors simultaneously which mix with each other in the collage / detachment during the application on the canvas. The acrylic colors mix together by capillarity effect and thus restore the appearance of the degraded leaves of autumn. At the end, I harmonized by sprinkling in micro-brown spots / dripping.
Inspired since his childhood by the beauty of Nature, colors and drawing, François d'Ardailhon became a painter using acrylic in figurative after thirty years of experience in oil abstraction. Adopting techniques such as pouring and dripping, he developed a "bio-organic" style simulating the sublime textures and colors of nature. His works celebrate the precious and threatened essence of nature, creating a soothing universe because it is connected to ourselves.
