On a trip in Israel, I visited the port city of Haifa on a hot sunny day. On one street, I noticed a building that had architecturally interesting features. The building is a mix of modern residential and historic Gothic elements. Particularly striking are the tall, narrow windows in the central section, reminiscent of Gothic cathedrals. These neo-Gothic elements, popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries, give the building a unique and intriguing… aesthetic. The balconies and windows on the side wings suggest that the building is used as a residential building, while the stone facade is typical of many older buildings in Haifa and adds to the Mediterranean atmosphere.
