During our vacation in Porto, Portugal, after extensive explorations of the city, we felt the need to escape the hustle and bustle and stroll along the beach. Beforehand, we visited the Museu de Arte Contemporânea and explored the expansive, artistically designed park with its sculptures. Afterwards, we made our way to Praia dos Ingleses. It was a sunny, clear day. Just before reaching the beach, we took a short break at an ice cream parlor.
During… our subsequent walk along the sea, we encountered several fascinating beach bars. One of them particularly caught my attention: It practically hovered above the sand, with stilts on one side and a sweeping view of the Atlantic. I photographed it—and this photo later became the basis for my acrylic painting.
The intense yellow and orange, which contrasts strikingly with the blue of the sky, reflects my enthusiasm and the light of this unforgettable day.
