About this artwork
An ancient linden tree dominates the scene. It grows from the darkness of the earth and reaches toward the sky, spreading its crown.
But the focus here wasn't on the tree, but on the mighty trunk, which tells its life story with its notches, hollows, and twists in the bark. There is a twisting, coiling, striving, a power that allowed a majesty to grow from a tiny seed.
Delicate moss growth picks up the color of the daffodils that dance around… the tree in the foreground. Like the tree, they are grounded in the earth yet also in motion.
With their delicacy and short lifespan, they form a magical contrast to the giant tree.
The work measures 67 cm x 87 cm with a passepartout and an exclusive frame.
