Glaring light, sharp contours and a friendly cat face - all of this is part of the memories of the white-built volcanic island of Santorini (Greece).
Eye to eye with the kitten is certainly the first emotional impression of this work. The second eye-catcher is the strong shadow of the bell stalls - typical for Santorini. The shadow lies slightly diagonally on the horizontal church roof. The bells create an additional charm.
The large ball of… the sun lies slightly off-center, close to the horizon, just above the caldera. Night comes quickly here and the street lamps cast softer shadows.
This drawing is also offered in a blue print.

Karin Steffek-Moravia has received major international awards and attracted considerable attention with her exhibitions worldwide.
