Wild mallows, brought from the field into the studio, rise towards the full moon on a dark night. In their beauty they can compete with any breed.
Each of the five petals has its own pattern of veins. Three flowers are stuck to the earth and have an intense violet color in the lower third of the picture. The one on the left still shines in the brilliance of its beauty, while the one on the right wants to return withering petals to the earth.
In… the middle of the picture there are two flowers that cover each other. Above that there are more, radiating through light, touching the moon.
A small cloud, like those often found near the moon, bears the sign of the artist, who deliberately designed this work with reduced colors.
« Vanitas resonates in the allegria about the beauty of creation. This calls for striving to preserve the unique creation with gratitude and humility! »
Karin Steffek-Moravia has received major international awards and attracted considerable attention with her exhibitions worldwide. In addition to exploring socio-political issues, particularly environmental protection, she creates "hymns to the beauty of creation" with her transparent, watercolor-based pencil and colored pencil drawings. Steffek-Moravia also skillfully explores spiritual and mystical themes, blending yesterday and today into a compelling harmony.
