The blue of Lake Maggiore (Italy) is embraced by a floral array of irises, wisteria, rhododendrons, and camellias. An azalea peeks up from beneath a magnolia. On the left, the impressive branches of the wisteria, with its impressive cluster of blossoms, draw the eye.
The view from Ascona (Switzerland) of the Brisagian Islands is as paradisiacal as this diversity. The small blue butterfly, matching the blue of the sky, seems to be flying toward… them. The gently rolling lake is also blue. So are the nearby mountains along the shore, which, in the distance, have the lightness of a floating butterfly.
This work (framed 66cm x 85 cm) has been presented in several exhibitions, including the "Hotel Ascolago" in Ascona and the "Pallazzo Viani Visconti" in Pallanza.
« Vanitas resonates in the allegria about the beauty of creation. This calls for striving to preserve the unique creation with gratitude and humility! »
Karin Steffek-Moravia has received major international awards and attracted considerable attention with her exhibitions worldwide. In addition to exploring socio-political issues, particularly environmental protection, she creates "hymns to the beauty of creation" with her transparent, watercolor-based pencil and colored pencil drawings. Steffek-Moravia also skillfully explores spiritual and mystical themes, blending yesterday and today into a compelling harmony.
